Lors du Salon de satory 1967 un M24 avec canon 90 mm type 925 est selectioné par la Norvege pour revaloriser ses M24 . Le marché est passé en 1972 . En plus du canon les M 24 norvegiens vont recevoir des stabilisateurs de tir modernisés et un moteur diesel.
Le modeèle fut présenté à EuroSatory 1973
Ils furent désignés NM-116 et servirent jusqu'à leur retrait en 1992-93.
