Contrairement au ROOTER, le RIPPER était monté directement sur le châssis d’un dozer ou d’une niveleuse. L’abaissement et le relevage d’1, 2 ou 3 dents s’effectuaient à l’aide de vérins hydrauliques qui permettaient d’utiliser une partie du poids du véhicule pour enfoncer la ou les dents même dans des sols très durs.

Unlike ROOT, the RIPPER was mounted directly on the chassis of a dozer or grader. The lowering and lifting 1, 2 or 3 teeth done using hydraulic jacks that allowed to use part of the vehicle's weight to push the teeth or even in very hard soil.
